Short Story
π Campaign Description
Being LGBTQI in Nigeria is a daily battle for survival. Many youths are thrown out of their homes, beaten, abused, robbed, and left to wander the streets with no food, shelter, or hope. When we started SwiftLink Rainbow Foundation as a small group, we were flooded with calls, texts, and emails β cries for help from youths facing homelessness, joblessness, violence, and rejection. Each story breaks my heart because I have lived through the same pain myself.
Today, we are working to build a safe haven β emergency shelters, food support, counseling, medical care, and empowerment programs β but our greatest need now is to legally register and incorporate SwiftLink Rainbow Foundation so that we can fully rise out of hiding and stand strong for our community. We are being tracked and silenced, yet we cannot give up. With your support, we can wipe away tears, restore dignity, and prove that love is stronger than hate.

Campaign Story
π SwiftLink Rainbow Foundation β A Cry for Hope in Nigeria
Every day in Nigeria, LGBTQI youths are thrown into darkness. They are chased from their homes, beaten by their own families, denied education, jobs, and even the right to exist. At night, some of them sleep under bridges, others wander the streets with empty stomachs, and many carry wounds not just on their bodies, but deep in their souls.
When I first started this foundation as a small group, we were overwhelmed. Calls, messages, and emails came pouring in β cries for help from LGBTQI youths begging for rescue. Some were homeless, others jobless. Many had been beaten, trapped and robbed, mocked, abused, and called names until their spirits broke. Each message shattered me, because every story was also my story. I had faced all of this in the past, and even now, as I try to kick off this project, I still face rejection, abuse, and persecution. Sometimes I melt to the ground in tears, but I refuse to give up β because I know that if I donβt rise for them, no one else will make this change in my community.
At SwiftLink Rainbow Foundation, our dream is simple yet powerful: to be the rainbow in their storm. We want to build emergency shelters where no LGBTQI youth will ever have to sleep in fear again. We want to offer counseling and healing for broken hearts. We want to provide food, medical care, scholarships, and skills that can give them a life of dignity. We want to help families reconcile with the children they once abandoned.
But right now, we are trapped. Because we are not yet officially registered and incorporated, we are being tracked, chased, and silenced. Our existence is fragile, and every day feels like a battle to keep going. Without support, we cannot rise out of this shell, and we cannot give the helpless the help they so desperately need.
I remember one boy, just 16 years old, who was beaten and thrown out of his house at night with nothing but the clothes on his back. For weeks, he slept under a bridge. He told me, βUncle, I donβt want to die, I just want someone to love me for who I am.β With a little support, we got him back into school. But there are countless others still waiting, still crying, still hoping.
π This is why I am pleading with you.
Your gift today β no matter how small β can feed someone who hasnβt eaten, clothe someone shivering in the cold, give medical care to someone abused, or put a roof over the head of a child thrown away like trash. Most importantly, it can help us legally register and incorporate SwiftLink Rainbow Foundation, so we can stand strong, safe, and ready to protect more lives.
Please, I beg you β do not look away. Together, we can wipe away tears, restore hope, and remind these young people that they are not mistakes, they are miracles.
